The 27-year old has suffered an injury to his right thigh after being away on international duty with Chile.
They played Spain in what was feisty encounter with Spain’s Andres Iniesta and Chile’s Arturo Vidal causing a mass brawl at the end of the game. Spain had completed a 3-2 comeback win but these scenes marred the game as both teams were involved in the fighting.
However, Valdivia played almost the entire match until he was substituted for Fabian Orellana Valenzuela five minutes from time.
On further inspection, it was seen by both the Palmeiras and Chilean medical teams, Valdivia could be out for at least four games. Tinga is set to replace the creative midfielder in the side who face Atletico-PR on Thursday.
