Champions League holders Barcelona go into the game as favourites, but Europa League holders Porto have already won their domestic Super Cup this season, and Hulk says he and his teammates are up to the challenge.
“We couldn’t be more motivated for the game against Barcelona,” the 25-year-old told UEFA.com. “They are undoubtedly one of the best teams in the world but we will do everything to bring the trophy back to Portugal.
“Every match is a test for us and a chance for us to prove how good we really are,” he continued. “Of course, this clash with Barcelona will be very important, not only because there is a trophy to win but also because we’re facing the reigning European champions.
“However, the objective remains the same: to win. We have already won the Portuguese Supercup and now we’ll try to do the same in Monaco, but if things don’t go our way we’ll just have to raise our heads and keep on working. That’s football,” concluded the Brazilian forward.
