All three of the young Brazilians have been linked with moves to Europe over the summer, with the likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan and Internazionale rumoured to be interested in one or more of the players.
Now Rivaldo, who is most remembered in Europe for his success with Barcelona, is quoted by Lancenet as saying: “I think Neymar and Ganso need to leave as soon as possible, and the same thing goes for Lucas.
“They need to be known worldwide and earn respect out there. It [playing in Europe] is not the same as playing here in Brazil. I believe they have to leave, so that in two years, everyone can know them at the 2014 World Cup. They need to have that experience.
“All three of them have everything to be protagonists of the game. They have a lot of talent. If they show 80 per cent in Europe of what they have done here, they will be contenders as the best players in the world, concluded the 39-year-old.
