The crisis at FC Barcelona is complete, without any trophies this season and with a third place in LaLiga that sounds like a disappointment. Xavi will finally stay, although that did not intimidate Vitor Roque’s agent to fire heavy ammunition against the coach for the lack of opportunities for the striker.

“Vitor Roque has to have more minutes. No one understands why they don’t give them to him. Xavi has never spoken to the player, I also don’t understand this situation, it’s not good for any part,” stated André Cury to Radio Cataluña. “There were many and many games in which those minutes could have been given,” he pointed out.

Tigrinho arrived at the club in January from Athletico Paranaense, in a signing announced with great fanfare and with last-minute management to officially register him. However, he only played 310 minutes so far this semester, relegated especially in the most relevant matches.

Proof of this is what happened in the last round of LaLiga. In Barça’s 4-2 away defeat against Girona, which left them in third place, the Brazilian was once again on the bench without entering the field of play.

“If we chose Barça having other options for double the money, it was because we wanted to play at Barcelona. As soon as there is an opportunity, we will be ready. I’m sure Vitor will be a great player, but if Barça doesn’t let him… The club or the coach, I don’t know what’s going on internally. There we have to look for another path,” Cury exploded.

In this context, the agent ruled out the possibility of a loan: “Either the player stays to be given minutes to prove himself or if the club decides that the player cannot stay, he will be sold. There are interested teams, many.” “I don’t see it as logical that you bring a boy from Brazil, put him to play on the first day as soon as he arrives and then not play him anymore,” he added, criticizing Xavi’s decisions.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
