The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Copa Libertadores champions after receiving criticism from fans. However, he recently declared he was happy to stay at the club, and has now revealed he rejected Anzhi’s proposal.
Speaking to Lancenet, Elano said: “The offer exists, but my career is stable. When someone says he wants to leave, three or four offers appear. But I am close to my daughters. I will continue working. I do not change the way I am.
“There is no problem,” he continued. “I am happy. People create thousands of things because of others’ errors. Some get mad, some are happy. It is up to me to respect that. I will not leave and I want to stay here as long as possible.”
Anzhi have also previously been rumoured to have bid for Elano’s Santos teammates Neymar and Ganso. They have former Seleção star Roberto Carlos in their side, as well as fellow Brazilian Diego Tardelli.
