Sambafoot yesterday reported comments by Melo suggesting that he wanted to join Real Madrid. Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the 27-year-old admitted that he did feel a lack of respect from his current club, but he still wanted to remain in Turin.

“Do I feel offloaded? Let’s just say that Juventus are not respecting me, or rather, I have this impression,” said Melo. “I see my name inserted in many deals, but I do not hear anyone from the club denying things. I have not even received a phone call. I am not just any old player nor am I the key for other transfer deals.”

He continued: “I feel like I am an important player for the club even though I hear talk that they will buy this player or that player. Maybe they forget that without me in the team they hardly ever won last season.”

Despite these words, Melo, who has played for Brazil 24 times, says he has no intention of leaving the club, adding “I want to stay. I love Juve and I want to win with this shirt.

“My family is happy in Turin, and there is no need for me to look for any great club especially now that there is an ambitious project. I do not want to leave without titles. I dream of a Scudetto season and a call from the Seleção. But, if the club were to sell me then I would have no regrets.”
