Inter Milan is aggressively pursuing Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento, aiming to secure his transfer as soon as possible. A club insider emphasized, “We aim to secure Bento’s signature early,” highlighting their commitment despite previous negotiation failures. With increased competition due to Bento’s performances for Brazil, Inter is preparing for another bid.

The club’s top executives, including Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, will meet with the Suning group’s executives by the end of May to discuss the potential acquisition.

Inter is financially constrained this season, lacking a dedicated transfer budget and needing to fund purchases through player sales. “We’re committed to balancing our budget by the end of the transfer session,” stated a club director.

Bento, 24, under contract until December 2026, has impressed this season with 19 appearances, only nine goals conceded, and 11 clean sheets.

His potential arrival would replace Emil Audero, who Inter Milan is unlikely to retain permanently due to a €7 million buyout clause from Sampdoria.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.

The first three episodes are available on Sambafoot’s Youtube channel. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases as we keep telling this legend’s life story.
