Copa Sudamericana: last classified in the group stage and date of the draw

The first keys left surprises with the elimination of large teams from the continent.

The group stage of the Copa Sudamericana is taking shape after finishing the first phase, which left several surprises after the elimination of clubs with great history on the continent such as Olimpia (Paraguay), Universidad Católica (Chile) and América de Cali (Colombia) .

Between Tuesday and Thursday, the keys that granted 16 tickets to the groups were defined in a single match, where the six qualifiers from Brazil and the six from Argentina are already waiting. Only four places remain to be defined, which will be for the losers of the third phase of the Copa Libertadores that will be settled next week, with the return between Bragantino and Botafogo as the highlight.

The six clubs that are already in the group stage for Brazil are Athletico Paranaense, Inter de Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, Cuiabá, Corinthians and Cruzeiro. Among the six from Argentina are Boca Juniors, the last finalist of the Libertadores, and another great one like Racing.

The draw for the groups will be held on March 18 at the CONMEBOL headquarters in Luque. According to the latest ranking of the confederation, the seeded teams to occupy the bolilleros in the first pot are: Boca, Athletico Paranaense, Inter, Racing, Corinthians, Defensa y Justicia, Cruzeiro and Lanús.
