On the morning of this Friday (8), the world learned of the loss of one of its most prominent creative masters, Akira Toriyama, the genius behind the iconic “Dragon Ball” franchise. At 68, Toriyama left us on March 1st, a victim of a subdural hematoma, as reported by studios associated with the artist.

Dragon Ball in football

  • A huge Gogeta banner, one of the iconic characters from Dragon Ball Z, was raised in the stands of the Banc of California Stadium.
  • During a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) match in February 2018, a gigantic flag with the image of the legendary Goku, the series’ protagonist, was raised, accompanied by the inspiring message: “Let’s seek the seventh sphere.”
  • This allusion to the famous Dragon Balls not only celebrated the anime but also motivated the team in their pursuit of the seventh French title.

During a crucial Major League Soccer match between Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Philadelphia Union in November 2022, spectators were treated to an impressive sight.

A huge Gogeta banner, one of the iconic characters from Dragon Ball Z, was raised in the stands of Banc of California Stadium.

The presence of the Saiyan warrior did not go unnoticed at the time, quickly becoming viral on social media.

Another memorable event took place in Europe, specifically during a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) match in February 2018.

During the match, the crowd was presented with another tribute to Toriyama’s legacy. A gigantic flag with the image of the legendary Goku, the series’ protagonist, was raised, accompanied by the inspiring message: “Let’s seek the seventh sphere.”
