Brazilian club Santos officially presented their third signing of the 2016 season on the afternoon of Monday.
Former Paraná defender Luiz Felipe, who signed a four-year contract with the Vila Belmiro team last week, was presented to the media on Monday. He will wear the number 2 shirt, which was vacant since the return of Werley to Grêmio. Aged 21 and highly praised by his former coach at the Paraná team, Claudinei Oliveira, the young defender spoke highly of his new club and revealed the players that inspire him with their characteristics on the pitch.
Luiz Felipe had been registered by Santos, and may soon debut on Thursday at the Pacaembu, against Mogi Mirim for the sixth round of the Campeonato Paulista. The player was a request by Santos coach Dorival Júnior, who had just Gustavo Henrique and Lucas Veríssimo for the position. Luiz Felipe said: “It’s a big dream come true. I will give my maximum for this very big club. I prefer to play from the right, but can also play down the left, no problem. I’m good in the air and quick with the ball. David Luiz and Thiago Silva are some of the players I try to observe. I’m ready. I’ll train and get my space. I leave it for Dorival to decide if I will play on Thursday or not. I’m glad that he indicated me. My way of paying back is on the field, by working.”
