Douglas Costa arrived at Bayern Munich last summer from Shakhtar Donetsk for a transfer fee of €30 million, and has turned out to be a big hit in the Bundesliga this season. Costa has credited his coach Pep Guardiola for the quick impact he’s managed to make in Germany, and went onto say that he’s learned more in five months at Bayern, than in five years in Ukraine. He told Sport1: “I was given a really warm welcome in Munich, from the fans, the players, the coach and the whole club. After only a short period of time, everybody could see that I had the potential to make it here. To feel all of that is enabling me to play the football I am currently playing at Bayern. Then here’s Pep, with him you learn every day. There is no doubt that he is the best coach in the world. His communication skills are unique, as well as his idea of football. To be honest, I’m really happy to be coached by him and I think I’ve learned more in five months here, than in five years at Shakhtar Donetsk.”
