Indian music director A.R. Rahman, who is composing music for the upcoming movie “Pelé", met him at an event in Kolkata this week, and said it was a “dream come true" moment for him.
The film is directed and written by Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist, and it stars Kevin de Paula, Vincent D’Onofrio, Rodrigo Santoro, Diego Boneta and Colm Meaney. Rahman says that the music of the biographical film has “Brazilian influence." He said: “Pelé is a big legend in sports, and doing his movie is such a big honor. Meeting him was a bigger honor… It was fantastic and a dream come true."
One the movie"s music, he added: “It"s very edgy I would say, from the making, it"s from the school of Danny Boyle [‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame], but it’s very Pelé. It has a Brazilian influence and I loved it."
