The transfer of Paris Saint German star Nene to Vasco da Gama was officially completed earlier today. And the attacking midfielder will have a job on his hands to help improve his new teams form, with Celso Roth’s team currently occupying 19th place in the Brasileirão.
After coming through the ranks of Paulista FC Nene enjoyed the best moments of his career at PSG between 2010 and 2013, becoming a true idol at the Parc des Princes. The Brazilian will now become the fourth player in history to play for PSG and Vasco, returning to Brazil 12 years after leaving his homeland for the Old Continent. After leaving PSG Nene spent a season in Qatar with Al-Gharafa before spending the second half of last season at West Ham United.
Nene’s contract terms at Vasco have not been revealed. His side will receive Joinville, 18th in the standings, on Sunday in a must win relegation six-pointer.
