Internacional chiefs today decided to part ways with coach Diego Aguirre, just days before the big Gaucho derby against Grêmio. The Uruguayan’s dismissal comes off the back of his side’s elimination by Tigres in the Libertadores semi final and a poor season so far in the Brasileirão where they currently occupy 10th position.
The favourite to replace Aguirre would seem to be former Seleção and Corinthians coach Mano Menezes, who has been free since leaving Timão late last season. He has competetition in the form of Muricy Ramalho, however the former São Paulo boss is reported to be in no hurry to return to work after the health problems he suffered with earlier this year.
