Emotions ran high following Brazil’s 1-0 defeat against Colombia and the referee has drawn criticism from Dunga and his team.

Chilean ref Enrique Osses had his work cut out in a high tempered occasion and had to contend with a brawl at the final whistle. Carlos Bacca and Neymar were both shown red cards and Brazil’s campaign could now be severely affected following the latter’s suspension.

Neymar seemed visibly frustrated all night after receiving a harsh yellow card in the first half when the ball rebounded onto his hand. His mood was clearly no better shortly after the game.

“In my view the rules are always used against me,” Neymar told Brazilian media. “I was off balance, the ball hit my hand but it was not intentional. They put a weak referee in there to whistle up for all that.”

Dunga was in full agreement with his captain,
“He allowed rough play and provocation and then we had the lamentable scenes at the end.”

Perhaps the player with the most criticism was Dani Alves who was subdued in attack all night,
“Referees have to stop thinking that they are the stars, the stars are not them, they are there to control the game,” Alves fumed. “We are used to this in South America, everyone here is against Brazil.”

“In my view the rules are always used against me,” Neymar told Brazilian media, criticizing Osses’ decision to caution him for a handball in the first half.
“I was off balance, the ball hit my hand but it was not intentional. They put a weak referee in there to whistle up for all that.
