Vasco da Gama striker Kleber has called on his teammates to up their performance levels, despite recording a second successive win in Serie B against Parana yesterday evening.
Kleber, who is on loan at the Rio de Janeiro team from Gremio, told reporters after the match that “we take a lot of risks. We play, we play and we try. But our team today, in my opinion, lacked a bit.”
A solitary strike from midfielder Douglas Silva in the 35th minute sealed the win for Vasco.
Kleber actually went on to miss a 73rd minute penalty for Vasco which would have made the scoreline much more comfortable; in the end they held on for the three points which takes them to within six of leaders Ceara, with a game in hand.
Vasco’s next assignment sees them travel to Natal to face ABC on Saturday.
