Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund contest the DFB-Pokal Final on Saturday and defender Dante has insisted the Bundesliga champions will respect their opponents.

Dortmund recently humiliated Pep Guardiola’s side in the league by defeating them 3-0 at home and Dante reflected on that painful defeat to Goal.com.

“That was a bad situation," the 30-year-old said.

"We kicked [Manchester] United out [of the Champions League], didn"t do anything on Thursday and on Friday we spoke only about the Champions League draw.

“Dortmund were hot and they deserved to win."

Dante believes that result will be insignificance on Saturday but revealed his respect for Dortmund.

He added: "What I see in training today is very good. We are not afraid of the final but respect is always there.

"We must not bad mouth everything in that case. If we win the cup, it is a very good season if not, then not. I am no diplomat there."

If Bayern are to lose the final then you would imagine that Marco Reus will have to be on top form and Dante has discussed the talents of the young German and admitted he would like to play with him.

He concluded: “I am a fan of Marco. I once told him he will achieve everything if he continues and he did it. He is a different type of player like the ones we have. I would like to play together with him at some time."
