Reports in the English press are suggesting that the largely-anticipated transfer of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa to helsea has been agreed and that the Brazil-born front man will move to London ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

Costa’s move is being delayed because of his current club’s involvement in the Champions League final against city rivals Real, which will take place in Lisbon on May 24.

The fee for the 25 year-old is believed to have reached £32 million, with Costa picking up a wage of £185,000 per week; Chelsea’s chief transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia is said to be in the Spanish capital at the moment to tie up the deal.

Chelsea are looking to do their business early inorder to concentrate on other squad targets for next season, as well as chasing off potential suitors should Costa have an impressive World CUp with his adopted country Spain.
