Tim Sherwood admitted Paulinho and Emmanuel Adebayor realise they made a mistake during the clubs 2-0 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League at Upton Park earlier this afternoon.

Stewart Downing scored the Hammers second goal, however it was one that could have easily been prevented had Paulinho and Adebayor not broken from the wall.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager conceded it “wasn’t great” from the pair but believes the two players in question appreciate they have made an error and nothing else should be said.

Sherwood told Sky Sports afterwards: “Obviously, the free kick goes straight through the middle of our wall, which isn’t ideal, and then you’ve got a mountain to climb.

“It wasn’t great but I spoke to them in the dressing room. I have pointed it out to them and they don’t need me to point it out, really.

“They know it is an error and it obviously hurts a lot more when you see 2-0 rather than getting it in the stomach, when it hurts for 30 seconds.”

Sherwood will hope to get a positive response from Paulinho and Adebayor in Tottenham’s final match of the season at White Hart Lane against Aston Villa next weekend.
