Spain midfielder Xavi has admitted he hopes to face hosts Brazil at this summer’s World Cup.

The two nations last met in the final of the 2013 Confederations Cup, with the Seleção winning 3-0.

Despite that heavy defeat, Xavi is confident that Spain will get their revenge, if they are drawn against Brazil.

“I hope it happens!” he told FIFA.com. “Or maybe in the Final, why not? But obviously we know that it’s a World Cup and that we’ve been drawn into a tough group, and that they don’t have an easy group either.

“Football always gives you a chance to get revenge and I hope ours comes at the World Cup – the closer to the Final, the better.”
