PSG captain Thiago Silva has expressed his happiness at the fact that their Champions League second round tie against German side Bayer Leverkusen will involve an away match first. The two sides will fight for the right to earn a quarter final berth over two legs, with the opening fixture due to be played on Tuesday.

“It’s good for us to start there (away) because they will be forced to attack. When opponents come to the Parc des Princes, they defend low and it is very difficult to find spaces.”

“Leverkusen’s a great team and has achieved great things in the Bundesliga and we’re hoping for a good match,” Silva told reporters.
