Santos are set to sign Internacional forward Leandro Damião with the help of Doyen Sports, according to Sky Italia.

It claims the investment group will pay Inter €13 million for 70% of the 24 year-old.

Doyen Sports describe themselves as “a private fund dedicated, amongst other activities, to providing an important and growing alternative source of financing for football clubs and football PLCs.”

They are associated with the likes of Falcao, Felipe Anderson and Steven Defour, amongst others.

Damião has had a tough season with Internacional, scoring just five goals in 26 appearances..

His indifferent form has seen him fall out of favour with Seleção head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

He will hope a move to Santos can bring him back in to contention for a place Felipão’s FIFA World Cup plans.

Damião has long been angling for a move to Europe, but recent negotiations with the likes of Napoli and FC Zenit have ended in frustration.
