Sport Recife have announced the signing of right-back George Lucas, who was playing for small Rio Grande do Sul club Pelotas.
George Lucas is named after the famous American filmmaker, and is an experienced defender, having played for the likes of Grêmio, Santos, Braga and Atlético Mineiro.
Sport Recife’s executive director Marcos Amaral spoke to Diário de Pernambuco about the negotiations.
He said: “George Lucas arrives on Tuesday to undergo the medical and to sign the contract.”
Sport Recife also plan to sing other players, Marcos Amaral said: “We are working, one or two more players should come within the next days. But we will only announce them when their contracts have already been signed.
“But as some players are coming, other players will have to leave, this is normal. But let’s wait until everything is done.”
