Former America Mineiro striker Bruno Meneghel continued his remarkable form in the Chinese Super League on Saturday, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over Tianjin TEDA to send his Qingdao Jonoon side top of the league.

When Bruno joined Qingdao in June 2012, the side were desperately struggling against relegation. However, 9 goals in 13 appearances later, he helped the Shandong based side to secure top-flight survival.

Tipped to be relegation threatened once more in 2013, Bruno has once more found scoring form to help his side avoid trouble. Now, just five rounds into the season, his third goal in five games has helped send the side top of the league table.

The Brazilian opened the scoring on the hour mark, before a second goal from Chinese international Zheng Long secured the points for the visitors in Tianjin.

A late penalty from Serbian Vladimir Jovancic pulled a goal back for the hosts, but it was in vain as Tianjin remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a winless start to the season.

Bruno was joined in celebrating victory by former Portuguesa centre-back Gustavo, who has also played in every encounter so far this season for the Sea Bulls.
