Rayo Vallecano striker Léo Baptistão has ruled out a transfer in January, despite recent reports linking him with Atlético Madrid next month.

Léo, 20, has been somewhat of a revelation in La Liga this campaign, scoring six times in thirteen appearances since making his debut at the club in August.

Born and raised in Brazil, Baptistão’s emergence has gone somewhat under the radar in his homeland, but news outlets have recently picked up on his link to Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid side.

“I’m very calm and happy at Rayo, and I won’t leave in January,” the player told the official club website. “I owe everything to Rayo, my story has been with this team and I’m very happy here.”

Rayo lie in 10th place in La Liga at present and will this weekend play host to 13th placed Real Zaragoza as they look to build upon an impressive start to the campaign.
