Marca reports that the Catalan giants are pleased with Adriano’s form and attitude and are prepared to offer a new contract to replace his current one which expires in 2014.

Adriano fuelled speculation of a renewal in a recent interview: “I would like to be with Barcelona for many more years. I think I am showing that through my football.

“We are already in talks, things aren’t straight forward but the interest is there for my part, without any doubt, and I think it will be for Barcelona too.

“I want to get on with doing my job and the subject of renewal will work itself out.”

The Seleção defender would follow in the footsteps of teammate Cristian Tello who recently signed a new deal to keep him at Barcelona until 2016.

Adriano is also one of our 30 nominees for the 2012 Samba Gold Trophy, which recognises the best performing Brazilian playing in Europe this season.
