Santos boss Muricy Ramalho has praised Cruzeiro supporters for their standing ovation of Neymar after their 4-0 win.
Ramalho told reporters: “Cruzeiro has set an example for Brazil. We know that Neymar is a national idol. This helps him to stay longer in the country, he is really happy and might even extend his contract.
“We thank Cruzeiro, Santos and Neymar deserved the applause.”
The coach turned his sttention to Neymar’s hat trick performance: “You wonder when he will run out of ideas, because every day he invents something.
“His desire to play is amazing, it is the end of the season and he could feel tired on these trips, with many commitments. But he is charged before every game.
“His will to train and play is the greatest I have ever seen, I’ve seen many players who want to play but not train.
“Be glad that you are watching him. He is one of the few idols we have in this country.”
