Santos in talks to sign Robinho

The 28-year-old started his career with the Brazilian outfit in 2002, at the age of 18, and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 46 goals.

Robinho also spent some time on loan with Peixe, from Manchester City in 2010, and has recently been linked with a third spell in his native country.

He said: “I don’t know if Santos are really that interested in me or if they are ready to make a concrete offer.

“They were my first team and I have always had a special relationship with them, but you have to think about the present.

“Right now I have a contract with the Rossoneri, I want to respect it and I’m happy here because I feel important at this club.”

The Seleção international is yet to score for Milan so far this season, having made four appearances.

During his time at Santos, Robinho won the Brasileirão title twice, as well as the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brazil in 2010.
