AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy believes Brazilian teammate Alexandre Pato is one of the best players in the world when he’s not injured.

The Seleção international is yet to make an official appearance for the Rossoneri this season as he suffered an adductor muscle tear at the end of August.

However, Pato is expected to make his comeback in the upcoming weeks and Milan’s El Shaarawy is looking forward to his return.

He said: “I hope Pato gets back soon, he’s potentially one of the best players in the world.

“He’s the present and the future of the team and I hope he gets back soon.”

Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was recently quoted saying that Pato could return on October 7 for their derby clash with Inter.

The 45-year-old said: “I hope Pato returns in time for the derby.”

El Shaarawy also spoke of his admiration for Real Madrid’s Kaká, who has just been recalled by Brazil’s head coach Mano Menezes.

The 19-year-old added: “I’ve always said that Kaká was the player that inspired me the most in terms of his characteristics.

“I think that I’m doing well too. I’m El Shaarawy and I play the game with my qualities.”

El Shaarawy has netted three times in five Serie A appearances this term.
