Menezes has named some surprise choices in his selection, including recalls for Real Madrid midfielder Kaká, Dnipro’s Giuliano and Fluminense’s Thiago Neves.
Besides the unexpected duo, there could be first caps for Grêmio midfielder Fernando and Roma defender Leandro Castán, as Brazil mix-up their selection once more.
There is, however, no room in the squad for Manchester United defender Rafael, Shakhtar’s Fernandinho or Lazio’s Hernanes, all of whom were thought to be in contention. Others omitted include Danilo, Bruno Uvini and Jonas.
The Seleção take on Japan in Sweden on 11 October, before facing Iraq in Poland, as the Brazil World Tour continues apace.
