Diego Forlan claims the main reason behind his disappointing spell at Inter Milan was that he was not played in his natural position.
The Uruguay international agreed to part company with the Nerazzurri on Friday and then immediately signed a three-year contract with Brazilian side Internacional.
Despite only scoring two times in 18 Serie A appearances for Inter Milan, Forlan insists he was not entirely to blame for his disappointing twelve-month stint at the San Siro.
”I was playing in a position where I had never played before. I accepted it because I had no other choice. I’m here now, though, and I hope to play in my natural position as striker again,” the 33-year-old told reporters.
