Cruzeiro to bid for Roque Santa Cruz
Cruzeiro's sporting director, Dimas Fonseca, has confirmed that the club have already made contact with City for their Paraguayan forward and are now awaiting a response.
''A delegate has made contact with City about the possibility of a transfer. We are waiting for an answer in the coming days," Fonseca told Globoesporte.
Despite making the enquiry to the mega rich English club, Fonseca is not confident an agreement will be reached.
"I think it will be a little difficult. Leo is one of our promising talents, but Roque is already an established player. But if the deal is to our liking, we will pursue it."
Santa Cruz is currently on loan to Real Betis and is no longer believed to be in part of Roberto Mancini's plans, with the likes of Sergio Agüero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli all ahead of the 30-year old in the pecking order.
