The 22-year-old was recently linked with a switch to the 2010 Brasileirão runners-up, and has now made the move, with Barcelona agreeing to pay more than half of his salary for the duration of the loan deal.
Dimas Fonseca, director of football at Cruzeiro, told Lancenet: “A deal for Keirrison is done. He will arrive tomorrow [Wednesday] in Belo Horizonte to pass a medical. On Thursday, I will return from Curitiba so that he can sign a contract."
Keirrison will hope to recapture the form that persuaded Barca to pay €14 million for him in 2009, having endured unsuccessful loan spells with Benfica, Fiorentina and Santos over the past two years.
