The 19-year-old striker has been linked with the switch to the Bernabeu all summer. However, the move does not look likely to happen any time soon after Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro claimed to have rejected two bids from the Spanish giants.
“The main issue is that Real Madrid wanted Neymar now and the player did not want to go, so there was no deal," the young star"s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, told Globoesporte.
“Santos rejected the offer because Neymar did not want to leave," Ribeiro continued. “He wants to play in the Club World Cup [in December] for Santos. In January, we will pick up talks.
“I will talk to Real Madrid in the next few days. I have to keep them satisfied, because they are a fantastic club and I need to keep a good relationship with them, for both myself and for Neymar," he concluded.
