The Brazilian team began, this Monday (8), training for the Pre-Olympic tournament in Venezuela. Under the command of coach Ramon Menezes, the 23 athletes called up met at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), to intensify preparations for the competition that will define the qualifiers for the Olympic Games.

At 5:30 pm (Brasília time), the players took to the field, marking the official start of preparation. The training began with an educational session, focusing on offensive and defensive techniques. The athletes participated in specific exercises, updating strategic aspects that were fundamental to the style of play intended by the coaching staff.

The training also included triangulations and unmarked submissions. All athletes worked on goal kicks, with or without crosses. Coach Ramon Menezes spoke about the team’s first steps towards the Pre-Olympic.

“We are now in a period of preparation, we know it is a short period and we have to make the most of it. When we arrived here at the Seleção, I praised this generation a lot, because in fact I was in front of a very promising generation, which has been proving this . And we are already carrying out our work with a very important competition, we know how important this Pre-Olympic is for all of us”, emphasized, Ramon.

The coach did not fail to mention the challenges that lie ahead, highlighting the difficulties arising from the South American competition.

“A South American competition that we already have experience with, but we know it will be even more difficult, because a Pre-Olympic qualifies only two teams. On the other hand, we still carry the responsibility for Brazil to be two-time Olympic champions. But our objective , without a doubt, is to seek our classification first. We have players with a fantastic history in the Brazilian National Team, at youth level, some who have already had the opportunity to be in the Main Team. It is a strong, concentrated group, so that we can achieve our objective and may 2024 be a very positive year for us”, he concluded.

On Tuesday, an even more intense schedule is planned, with training scheduled in two periods: morning and afternoon.
