With this defeat, Santos now carry nine games without victory across all competitions. While Odair Hellmann’s men are going through a five-game winless streak in the Brazilian league (D3 L2), where they sit 13th in the table, they’ve also failed to win in their last four Sudamericana matches (D1 L3). To make things worse, the Peixe have already been eliminated from the continental tournament.
