Ronald remembers the Pan-American title and prepares for the Pre-Olympic tournament

In coach Ramon Menezes’ team, Ronald is the second athlete with the most official games, with the Under-20 and Under-23 teams. The Grêmio athlete is one of the names that plays a role that the coach trusts. In preparation with the Pre-Olympic Team at Granja Comary, the player spoke about his relationship with the coach.

“Me and Ramon, we have a very good connection. Since the first call-up, we have had very similar ideas when it comes to character and football. He trusts me, I trust him. And the way I’m helping the Brazilian team, that’s what matters. Entering the game or starting the match, I just want to be helping”, highlighted the defender.

Ronald participated in the Brazilian team’s three competitions in 2023: he was champion of the South American Under-20 Championship, playing in all games; At the Under-20 World Cup and at the Pan American Games (under-23) he was the captain and scorer of Brazil’s goal in the final against Chile.

“It was an incredible moment in my life, scoring a goal in the Pan-American Championship, where our team was losing and we managed to go to penalties and win. It is an unforgettable moment that will be remembered. It was certainly one of the happiest moments of my career”, recalled Ronald, who also called on Brazilian fans to support the Pre-Olympic Team in the tournament.

“We call on all Brazilian fans to support us, to cheer for us. This championship is so difficult and very important for Brazil too. So, I hope everyone has positive thoughts, everyone is hoping that everything will be fine,” he added.

Pre-Olympic

Brazil is in Group A of the Pre-Olympic Tournament, along with Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador. The team’s debut will be on the 23rd, against Bolivia. The second game is against Colombia, on the 26th, against Ecuador on the 29th and Venezuela on the 1st of February.
