One month and seven days is still not enough time for Richarlison to stop lamenting Brazil’s elimination against Croatia in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. In an interview with ESPN, last Sunday, the number 9 of Tottenham and the Canarinho team tried to sum up the feeling of sadness and projected the future.

“It was a blow, I don’t know. I think it’s worse than losing a family member. It was difficult to recover. To this day, when I watch videos on my social networks, it makes me sad. But we have to move on. I’m still young, I think I still have one or two Cups to go. I will keep working hard so that things start to flow again, the goals start to come out, which is what I know how to do on the field”, he said.

Richarlison finished the Cup with three goals

The fall of the Brazilian team also resulted in physical damage to the striker. That’s because he suffered a muscle injury and was able to return to play only in the Spurs’ defeat against Arsenal by 2-0.

“Our objective was to win the trophy. I scored a beautiful goal, but I think that goal, let’s say, was not my objective. We went there to raise the cup. But I’m also happy to have scored that great goal, even running for the Puskás. I was happy, because I think a lot of people started to know me more. It was very important in my career”, he concluded.

Richarlison had a timid participation against Arsenal and was involved in controversies with compatriots Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães, in addition to goalkeeper Ramsdale. In the current season, the striker has two goals and three assists in 16 matches.
