Al-Hilal was the Saudi team that spent the most during the 2023/2024 period. The team led by Jorge Jesus and featuring stars like Neymar Jr. (who is currently seriously injured and sidelined from the squad), Malcom, Rúben Neves, Mitrovic, Milinkovic-Savic, and other international stars, is the current leader of the Saudi Professional League, and this naturally goes hand in hand with the enormous expenditure incurred in this financial year.

Al-Hilal spent 376 million euros in the 2023/2024 period and exceeded the most expensive seasons of several top European clubs. With its most recent signing, that of Renan Lodi from Olympique de Marseille, Al-Hilal broke records by surpassing the most expensive seasons of elite European teams such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, or Manchester City, according to the latest study published by TransferMarkt.
