The game was valid for the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship. 

With a suffocating start, Grêmio scored their two goals in 10 minutes and secured enough to beat Coritiba on Wednesday night at the Arena. Coxa still pressed, equalized the game and discounted in the second half, but Tricolor sustained the result and went back to winning after four rounds in the Brazilian ChampionshipLuiz Fernando and David Braz scored for the gauchos, while Nathan Silva scored the goal for Paraná. 

The opening minutes were entirely from Grêmio. With possession of the ball close to 70%, Renato’s team opened the scoring just after three minutes with Luiz Fernando. Seven minutes later, it was 2-0 thanks to David Braz. 

Coritiba grew into the game with the arrival of Giovanni Augusto and finished the first half better.

They even had a goal canceled by Robson’s VAR, for offside. 

Coritiba maintained the offensive momentum in the second half and with two exchanges already in the interval came close with chances from Nathan Silva and NeiltonGrêmio started to manage the game and tried to play on the counter but it didn’t work. 

Nathan himself pulled one for Coritiba and gave Coxa hope but it only turned out to be a consolation goal. Tricolor would still lose, after the entry of ThacianoMaicon and Isaque in the second half. 

With the victory, Grêmio reached 17 points and jumped to 11th place. Coritiba continues with 12, inside the relegation zone, in 17th. 

For their next outing, Grêmio faces Santos on Sunday at Vila Belmiro. Coxa receiveFortaleza at Couto Pereira on Saturday.
