Bahia’s new winger Freddy Adu is expected to make his debut at his club this weekend, in a state league match against Juazeirense.

Freddy Adu joined Bahia early this month in a deal with Philadelphia Union that also involved Kléberson, who has been loaned to the MLS club.

He has previously played in several different leagues, but could never live up to the ‘new Pelé’ hype.

The winger is very happy at his new club, according to Bahia’s assistant manager Chiquinho de Assis, he told press: “Freddy Adu is very happy, is always playing around, loves the city, but he is aware that he still hasn’t shown the football he became known for, he wants to be that player again.”

Bahia are currently in first place in group 1 with 6 points while Juazeirense are in second place in group 2 with 12 points.

The top two from each group advance to the semifinals.
