Negotiations with Al Hilal

Matheus Pereira’s loan includes a purchase option until the end of the contract, but Cruzeiro initiated discussions with Al Hilal earlier this year, understanding the complexity of the negotiation and seeking terms that fit the club’s budget.

According to, the values of the negotiation have not been disclosed yet, but the Saudis have agreed to lower their initial asking price, which was set at 12 million euros (about R$ 66 million at the current exchange rate).

The agreement includes a portion of the amount to be paid upfront at the time of signing, with the rest to be paid in installments over the coming years. Pedro Lourenço, an investor in SAF Cruzeiro, is willing to assist the club with the initial amount.

In March, Ronaldo Fenômeno and Gabriel Lima, CEO of SAF, visited Al Hilal’s facilities and met with the club’s owner, where the situation of Matheus Pereira was the main topic of discussion.
