Coritiba’s left-back Abner shone as Brazil’s national team started the South American Under 17 national team with a 1-0 win against Chile.

The Brazilian squad includes promising players sich as São Paulo’s midfielder Boschilia, Fluminense’s Robert and Kenedy as well as Vasco’s Índio, who went on trial to English side Arsenal last month.

The opening group of Brazil’s group was played earlier, Uruguay beat Peru 2-0.

Brazil dominated the match against Chile since the start and it did not take long for the Seleção to open the scoring.

Abner crossed from the left in the 24th minute, the Chilean defense failed to make a good clearance, allowing Kenedy to score 1-0 for Brazil.

Boschilia and Robert looked lively during most of the game, wasting a few chances to extend Brazil’s lead.

Chile only manage to theaten Brazil near the end of the second half, while Brazil’s left-back Abner was the best player on the pitch as he kept impressing with his crosses.

Brazil’s next game will be played on Friday against Uruguay while Chile will face Bolivia.
