According to statements collected by ESPN, Reinier’s agent has categorically ruled out the possibility of a return to Brazil. The Brazilian player intends to pursue his future in Europe for at least one more season.

This last year has not been the most favorable for Reinier. After a mixed stint at Borussia Dortmund, his experience at Girona was not as successful as hoped. This summer, the player will return to Real Madrid, but he is already considering a new loan for the upcoming season. Although rumors were swirling in Brazil regarding potential interest from Flamengo and Corinthians in the young wonderkid from Brasilia, it seems his journey in Europe is not over.

Reinier stays in Europe despite disappointments in Girona

“Reinier will not return to Brazil. He will stay in Europe,” Giulianno Bertolucci, the Real Madrid player’s agent, said in an interview with ESPN. With a contract until 2026, after having been recruited by the Madrid club for a sum exceeding 30 million three years ago, Reinier had been presented as an exceptional player who had attracted the attention during his time at Flamengo.

In Girona, however, over the matches, he gradually lost his importance in the team compositions, to the point of becoming one of the last alternatives considered by coach Michel. In 17 games played with the Catalan club, Reinier only managed to score one goal, statistics far from the initial expectations surrounding his talent.

This summer, the player will therefore return to Real Madrid after his unsuccessful loan spell at Girona. In Madrid, the club will assess the next steps in the career of Reinier, who has reportedly already received offers from Atalanta and Lazio for next season.

So far, no talks have been started with any club to determine his future, according to reports from Brazil. Apart from the offers from Italy and Brazil, clubs from the “Arab world” have also reportedly shown interest in the young Brazilian midfielder. However, that option would be ruled out entirely, as Reinier remains determined to succeed in Europe, whatever the cost.
