Bundesliga club Hoffenheim have confirmed that Brazilian striker Joelinton could leave them after ‘concrete negotiations’ with a Premier League club.
The player has been linked with Newcastle United, who have decided not to make their loan move for Salomon Rondon permanent.
With Ayoze Perez having left for Leicester City this summer, the northeast club are short on forward options.
They have been strongly linked with Joelinton and Hoffenheim used their twitter account to confirm that talks are afoot.
“He is in concrete negotiations with a Premier League club. It may be that he leaves us,” they posted on Thursday.
Newcastle have recently replaced Rafael Benitez as manager with Steve Bruce’s appointment confirmed earlier this week, it is understood that Bruce is keen to push ahead with the deal.
