Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino says he expects a tight title race between four teams in the Premier League and he believes it might even come down to the last day of the season.

The Reds are considered likely challengers to Manchester City, who won the league by 19 points last season, after a summer of significant spending.

The Brazilian is relishing a hard fought race, following his team’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.

“City are not invincible, they have lost games too,” Firmino told the Daily Mirror. I think the battle for the title is going to be very tough and will go until the very last day.

“That’s why we’re determined to start at the top. The favourites are the usual ones – City, United, Chelsea and us. I don’t think there will be any big surprises.

“But the Premier League is one of the toughest competitions in the world and so much of the battle is in the head. So, let’s see what happens.”
