With the start of the Brasileirão less than a week away the coaches of two top division clubs have resigned.

Despite leading Atletico Mineiro to victory in the Minas Gerais state championship Levir Culpi is set for a move to Japan. Earlier today he told reporters he received an irresistible offer from the Japanese club Cerezo Osaka.

Club president Ziza Valadares praised the out going coach and revealed his announced will be revealed before Thursday’s Copa Brasil tie against Botafogo.

Meanwhile after the weekend’s defeat by local rivals Atletico Goianiense in the Copa Brasil Geninho announced his departure from Goias, marking the club’s 14th change in coaching staff in less than a year.

“Results are fundamental in football,” he said.

It is unclear when his replacement will be announced.
