Liverpool have reportedly turned down a second bid from Barcelona for playmaker Philippe Coutinho, this one thought to total around €100m. The Catalans had a €72m offer rejected a fortnight ago.

Barca seem keen to get their man, especially with the likely departure of Neymar this summer. But Liverpool remain unrepentant and state that the player is categorically not for sale at any price.

The Spanish media were reporting that an offer of €100m might tempt The Reds, but that appears not to be the case.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was again in unapologetic mood ahead of Tuesday’s Audi Cup friendly against Bayern Munich, reiterating that the club are not interested in negotiating for the player who signed a long term contract back in January.

“If you say he is not available to be sold, where is the interpretation?” Klopp said firmly on Monday. “The word ‘not’ means there is no interpretation. There is nothing new.” Coutinho captained the side in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
