Juventus coach Max Allegri has insisted that Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro will not be allowed to leave the Turn club during this summer. Sandro has been courted by the Blues all summer and a deal seemed close in June.

However, Juve’s defence has already been decimated by the departures of Dani Alves to Paris Saint Germain and Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan this summer and Allegri has made it clear that he does not want to lose his left-back too.

“Alex Sandro is a Juve player, he’s extraordinary and he’s not moving from here,” Allegri said after his side’s friendly victory over Roma.

“He’s improved a lot since he arrived here and he still has margin for improvement. Together with Marcelo, I think he is the best full-back in the world.”

Chelsea had designs on Sandro competing with Marcos Alonso for the left wing-back slot, but those hopes now appear to be dead in the water.
