Atlético Mineiro can soon lose Argentine striker Lucas Pratto, who’s received an offer from Chinese football.
Lucas Pratto has been sidelined due to an injury since the club’s Copa Libertadores elimination against São Paulo. According to Superesportes MG, the proposal from China is €7.5 million, and Atlético would be willing to accept if the offered price is higher. The offer that Atlético have received is believed to be from Chongqing Lifan, currently sitting 12th in the Chinese Championship. The 28-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Asian club and now awaits his club to accept the proposal. When contacted, Lucas Pratto’s agent Gustavo Goni said: “I’m in Spain. I haven’t talked to the president and didn’t receive any proposal.”
Earlier this year, Atlético Mineiro had rejected an offer of €15 million from Chinese club Hebei Fortune. At the time, the board claimed that they did not have a suitable replacement for Pratto’s position, but this has now changed following the arrival of Fred from Fluminense. Atlético holds 80% of the economic rights of Lucas Pratto, while the rest belongs to Vélez Sarsfield of Argentina.
